The music is amazing, can literally breathe and run around after being stuck in a corridor for hours. I enjoy more open areas like that and the calm lands from FFX. Era of not Yakuza Member. I don't take anyone who loves it seriously, honestly. Dark Cloud Banned. Oct 27, 61, It was the worst. You finally get to a huge open area in that hallway of a game only for there to be nothing. No characters with voices or anything. God thinking about it I hate that game so much.
Dogui Member. Oct 28, 5, Honestly i like the first tunnel half of the game rather than post ch11 stuff. The setpieces in Hope's house and Nautilus are legit great and my 2 fav moments in the game. PC version is decent, tho i had some problems with camera control in my generic Dual Shock 2 to directinput controller adapter. It should be okay with a controller. Oct 25, 2, 7th Heaven. Gran Pulse was so disappointing. Hearing so much about it to only found out that everyone was fucking dead was terrible.
Those are really a great equalizer as it were. Even something "hard" like a Juggernaut can be beaten easily enough with one. More topics from this board What are the best weapons for each character, and why? Side Quest 11 Answers Anybody know how to get trapezohedron quick??

User Info: Grimbobthebob1 Grimbobthebob1 11 years ago 6 The big turtles r fairly easy It is possible to use Vanille's Death ability to acquire an otherwise currently-out-of-reach Accessory: the Growth Egg.
This Accessory will make you earn twice the CP in every battle, thus massively cutting down the farming time that you'll have to invest from now on. The main story is not too far from its conclusion, but it's not exactly about to end, either.
Therefore it's a good idea to refrain from rushing to the end of the game, and take your time to power-level a bit now as an investment for the future. My advice is to simply get the Growth Egg -- the CP you get in the last two Chapters, even if we only factor those from the mandatory encounters, is too huge to miss the opportunity to get it in twice the amounts thanks to the Growth Egg.
Moreover, in Chapter 13 there is a great timed one-time-only farming opportunity for CP, and you really don't want to get there without the Growth Egg. First of all, let's go activate a mission: the Cie'th stone at the top of the "school" building here in Oerba we mentioned it earlier, when it was still dormant.
The target of this mission will be found in The Archylte Steppe, so backtrack to the Waystone of Oerba and teleport to the Steppe to reach the place. To reach him you'll need to ride a Chocobo, since you have to use it to jump up a steep cliff.
Before proceeding to the actual fight, you want to farm against Behemoth King and Megistotherian until you get all of the following requirements for Lightning, Snow, Vanille:. These at least are the recommended requirements.
You could attempt this with lower requirements too 3, HP, or even 2, might be enough; Firaga is not strictly necessary, and neither are Curaja and Curasa , but trust me when I say that you don't want to take any chances. The CP earned with the other characters should be spend on their Stage 9 Crystariums; there aren't big priorities, so just upgrade whatever you want for them. The Growth Egg. There's a handy Save Station near the location of the Neochu; use it, then trigger the fight. The fight against Neochu at this point is hard, but not impossible with the right equipment and setup.
Paradigms will be:. Use of Shrouds Aegisol in particular is pretty much mandatory if you barely meet the previous requirements. You'll need much higher HP to succeed without Shrouds. The fight will rely massively on luck for the first part: you either win, or you die. The boss has tremendous attacks, but one of them is simply overkill: "Screech".
The boss uses this attack always after a short while into the battle, and you must defeat him before this can happen. The "luck" part of the strategy consists of Vanille landing Death on Neochu. Start manually casting Imperil on Neochu until it connects this increases the odds of Death. Then, after Imperil is on, spam Death over and over again. If for some reason the situation is getting out of control bad luck with Snow's AI , switch to [4] for more healing power. After a lot of attempts you may have to repeat this battle about 15 times if you're not very lucky you will eventually manage to kill Neochu with Death.
Summoning Hecatoncheir might be a tempting idea, but far from a good one: unless your party is losing control of the battle i. You can also use Quake to deal a decent amount of damage to the Picochus, but it's really not going to make a noticeable difference. Given this premise, to kill the Picochus you will cast Imperil on them possibly on all of them , and then spam Firaga. This will slowly take them down, one by one.
Paradigm [3] should be used to renew Haste and Protect when the effect of the Shrouds wears off. After getting the Growth Egg. When the mission is finally over, you will receive your hard-earned Growth Egg accessory. At this point you can resume farming CP if you want, but you can and should rather continue with the main story.
Eventually, after progressing with the events you will unlock Crystarium Stage 10 the last one , which will give you access to another great set of stats, especially high HP. This will then allow you to start the ultimate farming in the game, where both CP and Gil are farmed at the same time. Just as a technical note, it's possible to farm Adamantortoises with the Bahamuth Summon method at a decent rate already now, but in Chapter 12 you will acquire some accessories that will make the process of recharging TP and therefore this whole farming method faster.
You also want to have to farm with Summon-dependant methods as little as possible, which is another reason to not attempt this farming method now that your Crystarium is limited to Stage 9 anyway. Moreover, if you defeated Neochu you are certainly stronger than you have to be to easily win all the battles of the next Chapter, so there's no real reason to farm CP right now.
We'll discuss the Bahamuth-Summon method in the Post-Ending game page, just in case you want to take a look and see what we're talking about. Even if you decide to continue farming now instead of continuing which I don't recommend for the reasons I just explained , do NOT continue farming once you've completed Stage 9 of the three main roles of each character's Crystarium.
Any other investment of CP in other secondary roles is really a waste of time, because you'd better spend your CP on Crystarium Stage 10 instead, which is what will allow you to farm Adamantortoises without having to Summon.
When you're finally ready to go, continue on the Rust-eaten Bridge of Oerba and decide to leave. Note that this is not a point of no-return: you'll be able to return to Gran Pulse later when Chapter 13 starts.
Instrument of Faith Defied destiny's charge and embarked on a different path. Map of Chapter 11 - Eden. Pretty cool intro, uh?
Auto-Gestalt your win against a big robot during an event fight; he will drop the Sanctum Labs , a key item that opens a new shop. The formation for this Chapter will be mostly Lightning, Fang, Sazh. Go all the way North. Another treasure sphere is located on one of the "beams" on the upper-right area 9, Gil.
Nothing here, apart from a bunch of enemies avoid wasting time with them if you can; some are mandatory though. Fight your way to some elevators, then ride them up. An event fight against a Behemoth King will trigger as soon as you arrive; he should be no threat at this point.
You can sneak past all the enemies, but try not to miss the treasures of this place: you can get a Rebel Heart weapon for Snow from a treasure on the right, between two flipped cars, and then the Otshirvani weapon for Hope from the one on the right just before a Save Station.
Save the game, and prepare for a boss battle. Set up these Paradigms invert first and second Role if Lightning is the Leader and Fang the second character :. However, he is immune to all status ailments, and halves all elements. The battle is not hard if you can end it quickly, but the boss will start attacking relentlessly if you fail to kill him in one Stagger.
The best way to win therefore is to start with [1] to cast Haste on everyone, then switch to [2] to take the boss close to the Stagger point. If Lightning has Army of One, use this attack while in [4] to give the Chain gauge a tremendous boost.
If one Stagger is not enough to finish him off, the boss will recover HP and start attacking like crazy for a while; switch to [6] and wait for the assault to end. Then repeat the process for a second and last Stagger. After the fight, board and ride down an elevator to proceed. The game forces you in an event fight against an Adamanchelid. If you never fought one of these guys before, know that you first have to debuff them Imperil, Deshell, Deprotect ; then proceed to Stagger and beat them up.
Make sure to keep the HP up, or else they can easily kill you with Quake switch to [6] when you see this attack coming. You probably will use [4] for most of the fight. Save the game, and then go forward to find and open the treasure sphere on the right for a Punisher weapon for Fang. Then continue North and make a one-way-only jump down to the next level. Jump down some more debris to continue. Reach the main street and check the dead end on the right to find a treasure with 15, Gil inside.
Another treasure is located between the stairs to continue 5x Perfect Conductor. Follow the way to the Save Station, and then continue after it.
Head Northwest from here; there will be two paths that you can take -- follow the one on the left to reach a treasure sphere containing a Librascope. Continue past it, and at the next fork go right to find another treasure 6x Particle Accelerator by a small circular garden. Then go back at the previous fork and continue to the left. At the next fork, ignore the big enemies on the left side and go right instead; follow the path and turn right when you can. After turning right up some stairs , continue towards a dead end to find a treasure sphere containing a Champion's Badge Victory: TP Charge.
Try to leave your first target possibly Tyrant, since the other enemy Staggers more easily almost dead 50, or less HP and don't finish him off; when he's about to die, change target to the other enemy, and attack until you kill the second one. Then you can eliminate the other enemy your first target, which you left in critical conditions quickly, and meanwhile you probably won't ever get hit since the two enemies will just fight each other for the whole almost duration of the fight.
Go towards the Save Station, but proceed past it before turning right; you'll reach a treasure sphere containing the Antares Deluxes weapon for Sazh. Then proceed towards the objective marker; before the next Save Station a scene will trigger. This location where the second Save Station of the area is is also where a big Adamantoise is located. It's one of the possible farming locations for this enemy. You may want to at least give it a shot your first time here though, since defeating this enemy will allow you to get a couple of treasures ahead.
Let Sazh cast Haste on Vanille, and then summon the Eidolon sometimes the enemy will stomp the ground immediately as the fight starts. In those cases be ready to summon before you take the deadly hit. Once all the ailments have taken place, spam Death. Let the Eidolon go away without triggering Gestalt. If you're lucky, sooner or later the enemy will get instant-killed with Death. If not, he will eventually get up and kill you in no time; retry the battle if that's the case. There is also a very low chance of getting an ever rarer and more precious Trapezohedron this item is not meant to be sold; it's a catalyst for weapon upgrades.
I've reported this method more for curiosity and general information purposes than as an actual suggestion. Farming with this method, here and now, is just not worth it. If you defeat the Adamantortoise you will be able to access the two treasure sphere in the middle of the room ahead; if you didn't, the big turtle will walk on the floor and crush it, falling along with the treasures!
The two treasures contain a Plush Chocobo and 6x Particle Accelerator the former sells for 35, Gil; the latter are worth, altogether, almost as much as an Ultracompact Reactor for the EXP given. There are two more treasures on either side of this room, further on; they contain 12x and 17x Hellish Talon. Continue through a door to reach a safe hallway with no monsters.
Save the game, and continue past the Save Station. There will be a treasure sphere on your left containing a Mistilteinn, a weapon for Vanille. Keep going down the hallway to proceed.
You'll be forced to kill a Juggernaut to continue. He's another of those annoyingly slow-to-kill enemies. Deploy Fang, Vanille, Sazh. If you do everything right, one Stagger will be enough. Save the game and then continue.
The path ahead is full of Cie'th enemies called "Sacrifice". Right now these enemies are a bit too strong to be farmed consistently, but just as a memo-note, they can drop the Scarletite item as a rare drop.
Although not good to make Gil, this item will be necessary for a good amount of weapon upgrades in the future, and therefore we'll have to farm Scarletites here, eventually the alternative is buying them for , Gil each For now you can ignore enemies altogether and sprint North to reach the next Save Station; before it, on the left, there will be a treasure sphere containing an Ethersol.
A few meters after this, a boss fight awaits you. Use Lightning Leader , Fang, Hope. Once again he is immune to all status ailments and halves all elements. The boss has two forms that he can use; airborne and on the ground.
His Chain gauge will reset when he changes mode. He will fully heal after enough damage has been dealt, and he will also cast some buffs on himself Haste and Bravery are among them. Good news is that, on the other hand, he will be also automatically affected by Deprotect and Deshell when that happens.
Start in [1] to cast Haste, Protect, and possibly also Bravery and Faith on everyone. Switch to [2] to Stagger the boss, and move on to [5] whenever you need healing. Use [3] when your health goes down a bit too much; the boss doesn't have attacks capable of harming you very much if you have Black Belts and Protect all the time, but it's always nice to have "green" HP also because this triggers Adrenaline, and therefore more damage.
Save the game and then descend with the elevator at the end of the hallway to complete this Chapter. Map of Chapter 13 - Orphan's Cradle. Final Chapter! The enemies of this place can be used to farm both Gil and CP. They are rather sweet locations, so we'll be spending a few words on that subject as we go. The regular enemies, however, are NOT something you want to fight if not forced to: many of them are just too powerful to be worth the trouble, and they won't reward you with CP and item drops of any interest.
A good setup against most of the enemies will be with Lightning, Fang, Hope, using these Paradigms:. Orphan's Cradle - Edenhall Reliquary. Orphan's Cradle - The Tesseracts. Save the game and proceed further on for more scenes. At this point you'll find out that there are three teleportation gates in this room.
The one behind you is currently inactive; it will become active once you reach the very last areas of this place.
Then there is one on the left and one on the right check your map to see the interaction spots that mark them. This means that all the areas available in Chapter 11, and most of the areas of Eden, are going to remain available forever. One-time-only Gil Farming against Sacrifices.
The very first area is known to be a good farming spot for Gil from the seven Sacrifice enemies here. You need to be quite strong to make the farming against them effective, which is why I personally don't like this spot.
You also need to farm Gil for hours and hours to complete the game, and frankly this area is a bit too depressing to spend all that time here :p. Aside from that, the Gil farming ratio available in the post-ending game is not much worse than the theoretical-best rate available here, so you're not missing on an invaluably better opportunity if you skip this method here and now.
The paths where you have to jump to will disappear later on, making it impossible to respawn these enemies quickly enough to make this method effective their fast respawning rate is really the only thing that makes this method good. The strategy to defeat these enemies relies heavily on the SAB role: they are weak against a lot of status ailments especially Fog which makes them almost useless , and therefore their massive HP more than , will go down rather fast with a powerful party.
Equipping the Connoisseur Catalog and Collector Catalog will increase the drop rate, so it's advisable to equip them to improve the farming rate. Ideally, Fang should not have a weapon with Stagger Lock this unfortunately includes the Venus Gospel, which is the best investment to do basically everything except this farming method ; her Pandoran Spear is probably the best choice due to the Improved Debilitation passive ability. Party should be Fang, Vanille, Hope. Manually cast Fogga during the first three turns, just to be safe first two is usually enough though , and then let a rain of status ailments fall on the enemies while you Auto-Battle and Hope casts various buffs on you Haste and, after the enemies have Imperil, also Enfire.
In both cases, the "lonely" enemy will wander off right next to the side paths where you have to jump to respawn the enemies, so you can surprise the single enemy from behind, usually quite easily, as soon as you come back after detouring to respawn them. If you fail and Retry, the single enemy will almost always be set and ready for a pre-emptive strike, especially the single enemy of the pack of four enemies.
This method has several downsides, unfortunately. First, the CP income is inadequate 1, CP per enemy , so if you struggle when you begin farming, you won't be getting much better results any time soon. By "struggle" here I'm referring to the speed of the kills; if you're struggling to even win the fight then you are either severely underpowered, or you are not doing things properly.
To farm these enemies efficiently, on the contrary, you need a Magic-oriented equipment. This practically means that investing to create proper equipment for this farming method will require you to make an equipment set specifically for this method.
The alternative is sticking with a bad farming rate due to low damage output and therefore long battles which are not going to become shorter because of the Crystarium limitations, as mentioned earlier. In conclusion, I find this a pretty uncomfortable method to farm Gil, especially at a point of the game where CP is still very important, and Gil farming is more of a welcome extra reward when farming CP rather than your top priority.
On a second playthrough, experienced players may find this spot quite good to farm, but I don't recommend it for people at their first experience with the game, or for people that want to create as little custom equipment as possible. The post-ending game methods rely more on "quality" than on "quantity", and are, to put it in simple words, easier on your mind. My advice is not to farm with this method -- I mentioned it just because you may read about it somewhere online, and then regret not having had the chance to give it a try because you didn't know it existed.
While you're here you may want to farm just a few Scarletites though: 12x Scarletite is all you will need for Treasure Hunter, and since you can get 3x from "free" sources treasures and missions , 9x is the amount that you need to get as item drops from Sacrifices.
You can farm Scarletites at any time in the Post-Ending game too; the only reason to farm them now is that the Sacrifices respawn more quickly than how they will respawn later. With the Save Station in the middle of the circular area behind you, take the path on the upper-left side to reach a bunch of treasures; first you will find a Librascope behind an Aquila Velocycle; then, up some stairs, two more interesting treasures guarded by a Megrim Tresher.
Now head back to the Save Station, and take the path to the right instead. Interact with a statue of some sort, and she will spawn a couple of platforms for you. From where you come from, ride the one on the left first.
After riding the platforms on the left, you'll take a ride Northeast. Explore this area to find some goodies: if you go right at the first fork you will reach 4x Supercharger. Make your way to the opposite side, and stick to the right to find a treasure containing 4x Perfect Conductor ; descend down the platform in front of this treasure to reach another one 5x Turboprop.
Explore further ahead to find 2x Particle Accelerator and an Uraninite. Ride the previous platform back to return where you started, and then ride the other small platform to travel Southeast. There will be a treasure containing 20x Seaking's Beard right in front of you. Go forward and turn left when you can; you will reach a ramp going upwards. Go back down the platform, and proceed left towards a Save Station; you'll see another treasure in a small dead end on the right, shortly before it Shamanic Spear , a pretty bad weapon for Fang.
Save the game, then speak with the statue again to continue. After the interaction, the map will suddenly change. What happened is that the areas you visited with the right platform the last ones "have become" the areas where you are now. You can still return to the beginning of this area where the teleports to return to Eden and Gran Pulse are , but instead of riding a platform back, this time you'll have to simply walk on the catwalks that, from where you'll resume the game, will be on the right.
Ignore the path on the right if you have no business in returning back, and proceed left instead. Go forward all the way to reach a treasure sphere containing a Tetradic Crown, and then ride a platform on the left side to continue. After the ride, go all the way forward on the new platforms to reach a treasure containing 6x Starblossom Seed ; it's actually heavily guarded, and hardly worth the disturb these items sell for a total of 36, Gil; good, but not that important , so feel free to leave it there.
Then follow the other way; when you can, turn left to reach a treasure sphere that is worth 8x Black Mycelium. Continue towards the objective marker, and turn left again when you can to find yet another treasure Rhodochrosite before continuing to the next interaction with the big statue.
Save the game before talking to her again; a mini-boss fight will trigger after the interaction. I suggest using the now-consolidated party of Lightning, Fang, Hope. Usual equipment, and classic Paradigms:. The former is weak to all elements and subject to Deprotect, while the latter is strong against all elements and subject to Deshell.
Both can be affected by Imperil and Poison. Good news is that Jabberwocky is not immune against the "-strike" magic attacks, such as Thunderstrike, and these can be used to build up the Chain gauge pretty fast. Army of One is also an attack that he is not immune against. When the first enemy is down, the other doesn't stand a chance; the strategy is plain obvious at this point, just stick with [4] and switch to [5] just for a moment when you need to renew Haste.
In this new area, go straight forward to reach the center of this place; you'll have to fight an Immortal first use the usual setup, he's no big deal; debuff and defeat his Centaurion Blade when he spawns it.
Use the next warp ahead after looting the spheres. You'll reach another platform with two more goodies: a Scarletite and an Elixir. That's quite a bounty for unguarded treasures! The next warp will take you back to the previous bigger area. Once you're back, reach the objective marker. You want to take the path on the right side go counterclockwise , since the other path the left one is guarded by a tough couple of enemies.
You will still have to fight a tough trio either way 2x Sacrifice and a Megrim Thresher ; I suggest switching to Fang, Snow, Hope for this one. Set up:. The fight is made hard because of the stupid AI of Hope, who for some reason just won't cast Protect despite a huge need for this status to survive the tremendous attacks of the Megrim Thresher.
Start the fight by manually spamming Fog on the two Sacrifices, thus pretty much making them useless in the fight. When both are under Fog status meanwhile switch to [2] for healing whenever needed , cast Slow on Megrim Thresher.
Once that connects too, cast all sorts of debuffs on the Sacrifices do it manually, it's better : Imperil, Deshell, Deprotect, and then whatever else you want. Switch to COM while you fight alongside with Bahamuth, and attack the Sacrifices, trying to Stagger them both focus on one at the time.
By the time the SPs are almost finished, you should have half-killed one of them, and they should both be in Stagger status. At this point you can Auto-Gestalt, focusing on the Sacrifice with more HP; if necessary, manually trigger Megaflare before the Stagger meter of either Sacrifice is empty you should have enough time to fully use all your Gestalt time though.
By the time Bahamuth is gone, the fight will have become a 3v1. You can still lose though; be careful. To play it safe, use [1] and [2] to debuff Megrim Thresher with all the status ailments you can, including Curse. If you do this, the extra defense provided by two SEN roles will make you survive.
Continue to play it safe until you Stagger him, and then switch to [4] to quickly finish him off. When you're finally through, go on and save the game before interacting with the statue one more time -- mini-boss fight coming soon. Set up Fang, Snow, Hope. Also give her Power Glove and Warrior's Wristband. Give Hope the Growth Egg if you have it.
He is subject to Deprotect and Deshell, as well as Slow and Curse. The boss has very strong physical attacks, and therefore a SEN is necessary all the time.
Start with [1] to cast Deprotect and other status ailments while Hope provides Haste and stuff; switch to [2] if you need healing. Then switch to [3] and [4], depending on your need to heal Hope as SYN can help you a bit by casting Enfire or similar spells, as well as Bravery , and you'll kill the boss safely. If you're lucky, the Random Instant Chain ability will kick in 0.
It doesn't really matter though: this enemy takes a ridiculous amount of damage from physical attacks after De-protecting him, and so the fight will be over quickly anyway. This mini-boss is so easy that in the next area you'll find him again and, as a matter of fact, you can even farm Wladislaus for CP!
Just got to the part where I got Hope's Eidolen. Now I'm getting my butt kicked by a majority of the monsters. Hell, the bosses are easier then this. Not that great because the monetary rewards are pretty much nonexistant, and best to farm both when possible, but it'll build you up to where you can take on just about anything except the turtles.
User Info: gamer I prefer Light's Fang bringing Hope as well, instead of Vanilla. I suggest maybe using a sentinel in your team? By making them take all the damage you can probably use the other members to defeat the monsters and enemies. Pretty hard to get preemptive strike with the wolves running like hell.
